The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa, Iceland, named by National Geographic magazine in 2012 as one of the 25 wonders of the world. The lagoon sits on an extensive lava field of volcanic rock and is fed by natural underground seawater, extracted at the nearby Svartsengi geothermal power station, Reykjanes Peninsula, Iceland.
